Wedding 911
Make sure your wedding is picture-perfect and disaster-free. Here are seven quick fixes to wedding day bliss.

Makeup

  • Damsel in distress – not you! Give your maid of honor a makeup kit filled with cheek and lip color, nail polish, concealer, matte-finish powder, Q-Tips®, cotton balls, toothpicks, brushes and a comb, a mirror and a mini bottle of hairspray.

Hairbrushes

  • Things get spilled, hems rip, heels break. A pocket-size emergency kit stashed in the dressing room will keep catastrophe at bay. Include a needle and thread, safety pins, scissors, tape, Super Glue® and stain remover.

Bottled water

  • For an energy boost, pack a “picnic” of bottled water and juices and some pick-me-up protein and fruit to nosh on while you’re getting ready.

Handkerchief

  • Tear-proof mascara is a must. If you cry (and who doesn’t?), don’t rub your eyes; gently dab your cheeks with a handkerchief. A pretty linen one doubles as an accessory, and you won’t get caught wet-handed.

  • A pocket pharmacy will keep you feeling fine – ibuprofen for headaches, Zantac® for nausea and Allegra® for allergies (just think of all those flowers!).

  • Be a quick change artist. Changing into a comfy pair of ballet slippers for the reception will be a soulful experience. (They can be easily dyed or decorated to match your gown.)

  • A multi-purpose box of “love notes” will prove indispensable if you need to add last minute place cards, write a quick thank you note or jot down reminders or information.
