onging
to invite that special someone to a romantic rendezvous? Here are
five sure-fire ideas for creating an irresistible invitation that’ll
spark his or her curiosity and interest – and fan the flames
for the fireworks to come!
- Present your invitation in a keepsake box.
Write a personal inscription inside the lid – it’ll
be the first thing your sweetie sees when he or she opens it.

- Roll up your invitation and tie a ribbon around it. (Use red
or your beloved’s favorite color.) Slip a rosebud underneath
the bow; for a special effect, tie an antique key to the ribbon
with a note: “You unlock my heart” or “You hold
the key to my heart.” Carefully burning or tearing the edges
of your paper also makes your invitation look special.
- Send a romantic message by slipping your invitation into a beautiful
bottle with a cork. (Roll your invitation tightly and secure it
with a ribbon so that it slips easily in and out.) Both will become
meaningful mementos of your love.
- Slide your invitation into a matching envelope and seal it with
a kiss. Wear red lipstick to leave a lasting impression. (Men
can seal their invitations with a hand-drawn heart or “hugs
and kisses” – XOXO – instead of a lipstick kiss.)
To add an air of mystery, mark your invitation “Private
and Confidential,” add a “love” stamp, remember
to spritz it with perfume or cologne and mail it.
- Hide the invitation where it will be a surprise. Slide it under
your loved one’s pillow, hide it in his briefcase, tuck
it in her shoe or purse.
If you’re not in a relationship, send an enticing invitation
to someone you’d like to know better and maybe next year you
will be! |
