Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2    pounds ground beef

  • 1⁄3    cup diced pepperoni, Hormel®

  • 1⁄4    cup pizza sauce plus extra for topping, Ragu®

  • 1⁄4    cup mushroom stems and pieces, chopped, Green Giant®

  • 2    teaspoons Italian seasoning, McCormick®

  •     4    sandwich-size English muffins, toasted, Thomas®

  •     Sliced tomatoes

  • 4    slices mozzarella cheese, Sargento®

Directions

  1. Combine ground beef, pepperoni, the 1⁄4 cup pizza sauce, the mushrooms, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly. Form into 4 patties (see tip, above) slightly larger than English muffins.

  2. Set up grill for direct cooking over high heat (see page 15). Oil grate when ready to start cooking. Place patties on hot, oiled grill. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium (160 degrees F). Serve hot on English muffins with tomatoes and additional pizza sauce; add cheese slices. Top with fresh basil leaves (optional).
