Nonstick grilling spray, PAM®
2 pounds ground round
2 pounds ground chuck
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, Lea & Perrins®
4 provolone cheese slices
1 large red bell pepper, seeded and quartered
4 hamburger buns
1⁄2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
4 lettuce leaves
1 large white onion, cut into 4 (1⁄2-inch-thick) slices
Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°). In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Using hands, shape into 4 patties.
Grill, covered with grill lid, for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until desired degree of doneness. Top each patty with a cheese slice, and grill, covered with grill lid, for 1 minute, or until cheese melts. Grill bell pepper for 3 minutes on each side. Grill top and bottom buns for 30 seconds on each side.
In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and mustard until smooth. Spread mayonnaise mixture on bottom halves of buns. Top with patties. Layer with lettuce, onion slices, and grilled bell pepper. Cover with bun tops. Serve immediately.
NOTE: Recipe will serve 6 to 8 with smaller patties. Prepare recipe as directed, increasing ingredient amounts as needed.
