French Apple-Raisin Sandwiches
French toast has always been one of my favorite breakfast foods. This recipe is especially good because the bread becomes perfectly crunchy around the edges and mildly toasty through the center, while the apple filling adds a soft and sweet accompaniment. Adding syrup makes this breakfast truly decadent.

Ingredients
2 eggs
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, McCormick®
4 slices raisin bread, Wonder®
1/2 cup prepared apple pie filling, Comstock®
1 tablespoon butter
Additional butter
Powdered sugar, C&H (optional)
Directions
In a large baking dish, whisk eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Make 2 sandwiches with the bread and apple pie filling. Place sandwiches into egg mixture. Let soak until egg mixture is completely absorbed into the bread, turning sandwiches over occasionally, about 3 minutes.
On a griddle over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook sandwiches on the griddle until brown and heated through, about 4 minutes per side. Cut each sandwich in half.
Transfer to plates and serve with additional butter. Top with powdered sugar (optional).
