Halloween
  Horrorscape

Eat dinner by its fiendish flicker or add to the doom and gloom in your Halloween house of horror. This blood-curdling centerpiece is perfect to create a scene at your party – anywhere you need to cast some spooky sparks.

You'll need:

All items available at party and craft stores and online at www.spencergifts.com.
1 Gothic candelabra
4   white 12" taper candles with cobweb design
1 Plastic prop dagger or knife
1 tube red decorating gel, Wilton®
2 glow-in-the-dark plastic skulls
1 pkg white stretch spider webbing
1 tsp cocoa powder
  Plastic spiders

How To:

  • Place the candelabra in the center of the table. Insert candles. Use either ready-made cobweb candles or embellish plain white candles with black spider webbing. For a spooky special effect, use bloody drip candles – the white wax turns red as it drips!
  • Squeeze the red decorating gel into a bowl and dilute with a few drops of water to form the consistency of fake blood. Smear the fake blood on the blade of the dagger or knife with a spatula, and position the "bloody" dagger in front of the candelabra.
  • Randomly position skulls on either side of the dagger. Glow-in-the-dark skulls are eerie when you dim the lights, but plain skulls work just as well.
Stretch fake spider webbing across the display, taking care to keep it away from the candle flame.
  • Pour cocoa powder in the palm of your hand and lightly blow it all over the display to give the illusion of dust.
  • Stick a few plastic spiders in the web. If you have trouble securing them, spray a little hair spray on the underside.
  • To complete the look, scatter gore decor around the display – bloody gloves, plastic rats, gummy worms, etc.
  • Light the candles, dim the lights and bask in the ghoulish glow.
